What Is the Water Percentage of the Human Body?
About 3/4 of the human body is made up of water. Or at least it should be…
- Children’s bodies are composed of about 75% water.
- Adult bodies are composed of about 50% – 60% water.
It is generally accepted as normal that the body loses its water content for no particular reason other than because time is passing. It is said that it is normal for children’s bodies to be composed of about 75% water, and for adult bodies of between 50 and 60%.
- But is it really normal or is there a reason why the average human body loses its hydration over time?
We will examine this question in this blog post.

What Is Structured Water?
The three generally accepted and known phases of water are:
- liquid phase of water
- solid phase of water
- vapour phase of water
Is there perhaps another phase of water?
Think about it… if about 3/4 of the human body is water… what is the phase of the water that makes up the human body? Is it liquid / solid / vapour… ? Or maybe it’s… structured water… ?
The structured phase of water is:
- the fourth phase of water
- of gelatinous structure
- with suggested chemical formula H3O2
Structured water is interlaced with all other macro and micronutrients into a structure that is a biological tissue, whether it is the tissue of a human body, animal body or plant body.

What Is the Most Effective Way To Stay Well Hydrated?
In order to make sure that your body stays well hydrated, it is necessary that your diet consists exclusively of food that is rich in structured water.
Fruits and vegetables are the most water-rich foods. These foods are rich in structured water. This way, when you eat fruits and vegetables, you directly hydrate your body.
Is it really necessary to eat fresh fruit and veggies exclusively to stay well hydrated?
When you put some food that doesn’t have a lot of water in your digestive system, your body has to literally fight with that food in your long intestines to push it through and out.
Your body is constantly working for you. You live in the body, but you are not your body. Most people don’t even realise how much the body they live in works for them every moment of their lives. In this way, they do not realise how much they mistreat their bodies every time they stuff dry food into their long and winding intestines. In that case scenario the body has to sacrifice water from its own tissues and send it into the intestines. This is how the body uses its own water to moisten the dry matter in the intestines, so that it can then be pushed out by intestinal peristalsis.
This way, whenever you put in your mouth some food that has less water than our natural food, which is fresh fruits and vegetables, you directly dehydrate your body.

Why Is It Dangerous To Be Dehydrated?
The consequences of body dehydration are numerous and very serious:
- megacolon (in other words, people look pregnant because they suffer from constipation)
- dry skin
- dry hair
- reduced muscle elasticity
- increased toxin concentration in the body (the state of toxemia)
- weakened internal organs
Conclusion: it is very important to eat a diet that hydrates your body and not to consume food that dehydrates your body.
But I didn’t tell you anything new. For decades, medical professionals have advocated drinking about 10 glasses of water a day.
With this well-intentioned and accurate advice, they tell you the truth – that the standard diet is deficient in water and thus dehydrates your body.
If you continue to eat foods that dehydrate your body and just mask the problem by drinking water, it may ease the situation, but it does not solve the problem.
H2O and H3O2 are not the same! Liquid phase water can NOT hydrate the body in the same way that structured water from fresh plant foods does.
You can’t dehydrate the body with a standard diet, and then water it. In order for all body tissues to be hydrated and the intestines to work effectively, it is necessary to eat a day of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Should You Drink Water on a Raw Diet?
From my experience (I’ve been on a 100% raw vegan diet since February 2012), eating 100% raw vegan diet is NOT enough to stay well hydrated.
From my experience and observations, it is necessary to both eat a raw vegan diet and drink water to make sure your body stays well hydrated.
I know that some raw diet advocates claim they don’t drink water because they feel they don’t need it. Unfortunately, I followed this theory for a while a few years ago. Back them I believed that because I had been eating a raw diet, it was enough to drink water rarely and very little. In my experience, that was a mistake.
So a few years ago, I got into the habit of always having a glass or bottle of water next to me and sipping water throughout the day. I believe that this is the right way to maintain a high level of body hydration.

Which Water Filter Is Effective?
It is very important to drink clean water. I use and highly recommend a thankless reverse osmosis water filter.

How Much Water Should You Drink per Day?
The exact amount of water you need to drink per day is very individual and depends on many factors:
- gender
- age
- weight
- fat tissue vs muscle tissue percentage
- physical activity level
- diet
- altitude
- air humidity
A simple rule for determining whether you drink enough water during the day is:
- You should drink as much water a day as it is necessary for you to urinate between 8 and 12 times a day and have at least one stool in 24 hours.

How Much Water Do You Get from Food?
Let’s now compare an example of a raw vegan diet meal plan that I practice and recommend, with an example of a standard diet meal plan. For both meal plans, I use the same calorie value of 2,100 kCal.
An example of a raw vegan diet meal plan that I practice and recommend consists of the following three meals:
- Breakfast: tangerines and green juice (Granny Smith apples and green leafy vegetable juice)
- Lunch: persimmon pudding and cucumbers
- Dinner: pomegranate-orange juice, raw vegan mac and cheese according to my recipe, and a cucumber-fenugreek-microgreen salad
From this meal plan you get 2,100 kCal and 3.6 L of water.

An example of a standard diet meal plan consists of the following three meals:
- Breakfast: toast, margarine, eggs, sausage, yogurt
- Lunch: meat, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumber, onion
- Dinner: wine, mac and cheese
From this meal plan you get 2,100 kCal and 1.6 L of water.
In the picture: Nutrient profile of a standard diet meal plan example with emphasis on water content
It is clearly seen that a raw vegan diet provides more than twice as much water than the same caloric value of food on a standard diet.

Why Does the Human Body Lose Its Water over Time?
Now let’s go back to the question from the beginning of this blog post…
About 3/4 of the human body is made up of water. Or at least it should be…
- Children’s bodies are composed of about 75% water.
- Adult bodies are composed of about 50% – 60% water.
It is generally accepted as normal that the body loses its water content for no particular reason other than because time is passing. It is said that it is normal for children’s bodies to be composed of about 75% water, and for adult bodies of between 50 and 60%.
- But is it really normal or is there a reason why the average human body loses its hydration over time?
Now I will ask you three questions to think about. Please give them some thought and then leave your conclusions in the comment box below this post.
- What food is served in kindergartens and schools?
- Is it possible that children’s bodies start losing water at an early age by eating those foods that dehydrate the body, which over time is leading to a significant loss in body hydration level.
- Is it possible that if people ate their natural food – fresh fruits and vegetables – from childhood on, it would be normal for the body to maintain a high level of hydration throughout life?

The Takeaway To Remember
From this lesson in which you learned how to stay well hydrated, remember the most important points:
- Structured water is water that is interlaced with all other macro and micronutrients into a structure that is a biological tissue, whether it is the tissue of a human body, animal body or plant body.
- Food that is rich in structured water – fresh fruits and vegetables – most effectively hydrates the body.
- Food that is not rich in structured water – all food that is not fresh fruits and vegetables – effectively dehydrates the body.
- It is a healthy habit to always have a glass of water or a water bottle next to you and to sip water throughout the day.
